Over the years, membership has provided me access to resources (e.g., publications, message boards, and meetings) that have been critical to advancing my work.Participation has given me the opportunity to serve on various committees, help plan and organize symposia, provide input on the future direction of the Societies, publish my research, and engage in the peer-review process. One of the most valuable things the Societies have provided me is the opportunity to network with colleagues—at the Annual Meetings, through message boards, etc. Networking through the Societies has introduced me to many of my closest friends and colleagues and has fostered several very productive collaborations.I have found my career extremely rewarding and am grateful to the Societies for the role they played in setting me on this course and facilitating my efforts.
