Become a Peer Reviewer

Peer review is the cornerstone of scholarly publication. Reviewers evaluate submissions fairly, rapidly, and confidentially for innovation and novel results. We welcome reviewers from all over the world and authors often return the service of peer reviewers by providing their time and expertise as a reviewer. Are you interested in becoming a reviewer for one of our publications? Click here to learn how to register as a user in our submission system. Then send us your contact information, journals you are interested in reviewing for, and areas of expertise at manuscripts@sciencesocieties.org. Please use "Peer Review" as the subject of your email. If you are an early career researcher, consider applying to our Peer Review Mentorship Program.

Why Peer Review

Reviewing is a mutually beneficial process. It provides an excellent way to stay current in your area of science, improve your writing, learn about the publication process, and advance your career. As nonprofit societies, ASA, CSSA, and SSSA reinvest the proceeds from our journals into other causes like education and policy. By reviewing with us, you are supporting your scientific community and helping to increase awareness of your field. The societies also offer automated reviewer recognition via Web of Science, annually publish the names of reviewers, and award multiple Editor's Citations for Excellence in Review each year.

To ensure review requests you receive are targeted to your specialty areas, please update the keywords in your ScholarOne account. If you have logins across multiple journals, please take the opportunity to click your name in the top right corner of the ScholarOne browser window and update your account(s).
