Volunteer with the Societies

Giving back and expanding your leadership

Our Societies are shaped by the members who have a commitment to serve, lead, and give back. Whether you are reviewing research for our 13 journals, judging award applications, or mentoring students, your work drives the progress of our disciplines.

Our 2026 volunteer call is an ongoing process with various dates/deadlines across the Societies. When you become a volunteer, you have the opportunity to drive transformational change and increase your leadership skills. Volunteering is more than a commitment to serve and we encourage you to consider how you can utilize your expertise to give back.

Explore elected volunteer leadership opportunities

Want to serve on the Board or in a Division/Section Leadership or as a ASA Community Vice Leader? Submissions open on Sept. 1, 2026 for nominations of interested candidates (submission requires you to be a member of associated Society).

Submissions of interest will be reviewed by associated Society leadership in late 2026 and selections for the ballot will be determined by end of year. Voting will begin March 8, 2027.

For interested candidates who would like to be considered for an elected leadership volunteer position, these are the steps:

  1. View available positions (by Society) within the Member Hub* to determine position interest and request Application form (opens Sept. 1, 2026)
  2. You will receive an email with the appropriate Application form
  3. Complete the Application form by Priory Deadline: Oct. 23, 2026**
  4. Notification of receipt will be sent to associated email

All submissions completed prior to Priority Deadline will be reviewed by associated Society leadership at the CANVAS 2026 Business meetings to select candidate/s who will be on the Election Ballot for 2028.

*To access the Member Hub, you will be required to login.
**After October 23rd through Nov. 30, 2026 — Applications may still be accepted. Especially helpful if nominations committee/s are still looking after CANVAS 2026 Business meetings.
