Submission Guidelines

Articles from members or about members

Members of the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America may submit articles of interest to other members. This may include news about a member (professional achievement, updates, activities, in memoriam, etc.); activities or programs of Society groups or other organizations that would be of general interest to Society members; opinion/perspectives articles on a topic of interest to members; and articles that may help members in their careers and professional development. Those who are not members may still submit articles as long as they are writing about another member (e.g., in memoriam, award, or other update, etc.). CSA News reserves the right to decline publication if the article does not fit within the publication’s scope and mission.

All articles submitted to CSA News magazine must adhere to the Societies' "Artificial Intelligence Generated Content policy." Generative AI can't be used to generate or draft the article's substantive content and act as a replacement for writing. There are, however, permitted uses such as improving the readability in areas of the article, etc. Use of AI must be disclosed at the end of the article. 

Articles submitted to CSA News will be published under Creative Commons license CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
