HomePublicationsCSA NewsIssuesCSA News: Volume 70, Issue 10 World Congress of Soil Science to be held in Nanjing, China in 2026Deadline for submitting abstracts is Nov. 7, 2025 September 24, 2025 For the first time, China will serve as the host country for the World Congress of Soil Science, which will be held June 7–12, 2026 in Nanjing, the capital city of the most developed Jiangsu province. Held every four years and sponsored by the International Union of Soil Sciences, the World Congress of Soil Science is a major event for scientific and technological professionals in soil science and related disciplines worldwide to engage in academic exchange. The Congress theme, "Soil and the Shared Future for Humanity," focuses on the importance of soil for our future with a variety of arrangements including poster exhibition, young researcher forum, and soil judging contest. Tours will also be organized for participants to visit typical soils in combination with unique landscapes and cultural diversification as China is a vast country with rich soil resources.Those wishing to submit an abstract should do so by Nov. 7, 2025. Student/post-doc travel fellowships available!Thanks to generous funding from the Agronomic Science Foundation and SSSA, up to 10 travel grants for graduate students/post-docs will be awarded to defray travel expenses to the World Congress of Soil Science. Nominees must have an accepted abstract to receive funding. Self-nominations will open November 1 and close January 12 (including recommendation letter). Learn more and plan to self-nominate!
