This includes participating in communication workshops at the Annual Meeting and serving on the CSSA Science Policy Committee.Through my involvement with this committee, I learned much more about the inner workings of the policy office’s role to support agricultural science funding. This included a 2019 presentation to approximately 50 congressional staff in Washington, DC about my research on diversified crop management and its ability to improve soil hydrologic function. These opportunities help me support the University of Nebraska’s government affairs work and give me the confidence to engage with local, state, and federal decision-makers. All of these experiences, I believe, have helped me and my research team communicate effectively about why our work is important to society. More people Back to issue Back to home Text © .
