Seeking Members to Serve: Divisions, Sections, Boards, and Presidents

The ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Nominating Committees are inviting members interested in serving in leadership positions with our Divisions, Sections, Boards of Directors, or as a Society President, to submit their names for consideration by 30 Nov. 2021.

The Societies are strongly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion: please seek out and invite women, minorities, and other members of historically marginalized communities for leadership. Submit candidate names (either by self-nominations or by nominating a colleague) to your Section and Division Chairs or to your Society Presidents: ASA—Jeff Volenec, Send Message; CSSA—Vara Prasad, Send Message; or SSSA—April Ulery, Send Message.

Leadership positions available for the 2022 elections are:

2023 ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Presidents-Elect
2023 ASA Section Vice-Chairs, CSSA Division Chairs-Elect, and SSSA Division Chairs-Elect
2023 ASA Board of Directors Representatives: Early Career, Environmental Quality, Graduate Student, Industry, and International Certified Crop Adviser
2023 CSSA Board of Directors Representatives: Division C-1 Crop Breeding and Genetics; Division C-4 Seed Physiology, Production, & Technology; Division C-8 Plant Genetic Resources; Division C-9 Crops for Nutrition and Health; and Industry
2023 SSSA Board of Directors Representatives: Agricultural Soil and Food Systems Group, Fundamental Soil Science Group, Soil and Ecosystem Processes Group, and Education and Practicing Professional Group.

The Nominating Committees will review all submissions, narrowing the pool of candidates to run on the ballot for each office. The elections will take place in March 2022.
