On 8 April, the ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Boards of Directors jointly voted to host the Annual Meeting in person 7–10 November in Salt Lake City, UT.

Each board had an opportunity to speak with an epidemiologist and review member survey responses. In addition, the budget and other options were considered. Together, the boards voted that an in-person meeting can safely be held following CDC guidelines and city, county, and venue regulations.

We will continue to evaluate health information as well as the science of the COVID-19 pandemic and work closely with health and safety experts to keep our members safe at the meeting. To allow the most flexibility to our attendees, the Societies are offering full abstract fee and registration refunds for the 2021 Annual Meeting by request.

In addition to the in-person meeting, we will also offer a limited virtual program at a reduced price for those unable to attend. The virtual program includes the prerecorded keynote, 10 lectureships, potentially other high value presentations, and last-minute enhancements as the program develops.

The safety of our attendees is and always will be paramount. Connecting scientific leaders from around the world is also vital in turning strategies into actions and actions into impacts. We hope you can join us for either the limited virtual recordings or in Salt Lake City in November—whichever is most comfortable for you.
