HomePublicationsCSA NewsIssuesCSA News: Volume 66, Issue 4Staff departure announcement March 17, 2021 Nick Goeser has resigned his position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Alliance of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Science Societies (ACSESS) to pursue other opportunities. The ACSESS Board of Directors has named Luther Smith as Interim CEO. Smith has been on staff for 25 years, most recently as Director of Professional Development and Business Relations. He will be supported by the strong leadership of the department directors and talented staff. The ACSESS Board will identify a search process to hire the next CEO in the coming months.Goeser joined the organization in December 2019 as its seventh leader, replacing Ellen Bergfeld who retired in September 2019 after serving 16 years as the CEO.The organizations will move forward during the transition, working closely with all of the boards on initiatives related to our strategic plans.
