The first ever “Share your Science, by Video” session was a part of the 2019 ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Annual Meeting in San Antonio in November. Interest in the meeting room was high as 10 video submissions (about four minutes each) were shown, followed by an additional four minutes of Q&A with the presenting author. Video messages were produced for research, extension, and classroom audiences. Four judges evaluated the videos based on adherence to guidelines, technical elements (e.g., video and audio quality, lighting, and non-distracting music), creativity, and impact (i.e., engaging the audience throughout).

From l to r: Laura Thompson, Stirling Stewart, and Curtis Ransom were the top three winners of the “Share Your Science, by Video” session held at the 2019 Annual Meeting in San Antonio in November.

Winners were:

  • First: Laura Thompson, University of Nebraska
  • Second: Stirling Stewart, University of Missouri
  • Third: Curtis Ransom/Lance Conway, University of Missouri
  • Fourth: Nels Hansen/Jessica Wayment, Brigham Young University-Idaho

Not able to attend the session? No problem. Watch of few of the session videos here:

Plans are to include similar video sessions again next year. Start now thinking about how you might contribute.
