NIFA competitive grant application update

Due to the delay in finalizing federal funding and the change in administrations, the release of requests for applications (RFAs) for NIFA competitive grants has been delayed. The ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Science Policy Office has heard that many NIFA competitive grant RFAs will be opening soon though the exact timeframe is not known. We have also learned that the application window will likely be only 30 days. We encourage Society members who regularly apply for NIFA competitive grant programs to consider preparing their applications now and to anticipate a short window to submit applications. We suggest working on applications based off of the previous year's RFA and using the 30-day window to ensure that the application aligns with the new administration's priorities. This information is subject to change, but we hope it will give ASA, CSSA, and SSSA members the greatest ability to prepare.
