The Societies are now accepting nominations for the position of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Program Planning Committee Member.What does the DEI Program Planning Committee Member do?This is your chance to let your creative juices flow! You will lead the Society’s efforts in all phases of CANVAS activities for the next three years. This is a great way to offer new ideas to expand DEI programing at CANVAS. What changes would improve the overall CANVAS experience? What is it that really needs attention in your eyes? This is your chance to help make a difference in shaping CANVAS for years to come.What is the term?The term of the appointment is January 2026 to December 2028. This committee includes the three Society program planning officers, three Society program chairs (presidents-elect), the chief executive officer, and the technical program manager.What are the job requirements?If you are a member of any of the Societies and are forward-thinking, creative, willing to take risks, a dreamer, a high-energy person, a visionary, then you have the right qualifications. You’ll get together throughout the year on Zoom calls and will be integral to the program finalizing process held late summer. The Societies pay your registration, housing, and travel expenses for the CANVAS event itself.To be considered for the position of DEI Program Planning Committee Member, please send a letter of interest by May 30, 2025 to Nate Ehresman at nehresman@sciencesocieties.org.
