HomePublicationsCSA NewsIssuesCSA News: Volume 69, Issue 2Congratulations to Diversity Student Poster Contest Winners February 1, 2024 Tiffany Carter (Vice-Chair DEI Committee) presents Huan Hu (China Agricultural University) with a certificate for finishing first in the 2023 contest. The Diversity Student Poster Contest, conducted by the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, highlights research conducted by underrepresented graduate and undergraduate students within the Societies. This contest was open to students who self‐identify as members of a group that has historically been underrepresented or marginalized within the sciences. More than 400 students initially signed up! The contest is unique as there is a preliminary round that was held virtually at the beginning of October with 100 students submitting their poster. With no travel required for the preliminary round, judges from across countries participated. The final 15 students presented in person at the Annual Meeting. Congratulations to all and thank you to the Agronomic Science Foundation IDEAS Fund for supporting this contest.Contest winners were: First place: Huan Hu, China Agricultural University Second place: Marissa Barbosa, Louisiana State University Third place: Dionata Filippi, North Carolina State University Diversity Student Poster Contest finalist Vaishnavi Varikuti presents a poster.
