Staff Departure Announcement
On March 3, Nick Goeser resigned as CEO of the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America. Luther Smith has been serving as interim CEO during the transition. The organizations will continue moving forward with the leadership of our Boards of Directors and our talented staff. Watch for additional updates in the coming months.
Sustainable Agronomy Conference
Be sure to save the dates for this year's Sustainable Agronomy Conference, which will be held virtually again this year. Do you work in the U.S. West or the Northern Great Plains? Are you passionate about serving the practicing professional community and getting the best research-based practices down to the farm level? If so, consider serving as a Regional Editor for Crops & Soils magazine. Duties and responsibilities of the Editor position include: representing a region on the board; providing four to six stories or story ideas each year for the magazine (either written by a subject matter expert or written by the magazine staff at the direction of the Editor); and providing feedback to magazine staff or answering technical questions from time to time. Behre to Lead DOE-Office of Science
Congratulations to Asmeret Berhe, University of California–Merced, who was recently selected to serve as the Director of the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science. Dr. Behre has been a member of the Soil Science Society of America for 13 years.
