CANVAS 2026 hotel reservations

We have negotiated discounted rates for hotels within walking distance of the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, OR.

To offer discounted hotel rates for CANVAS attendees, the Societies commit to reserving a certain number of rooms with our partner hotels. When you book within the CANVAS room blocks, it helps us meet those commitments and strengthens our ability to secure great rates and options for future meetings. If you’re able, we kindly encourage you to stay at one of the six official CANVAS hotels listed below.

  • All reservations must be received by Monday, October 12, 2026, at 10 p.m. EST to guarantee availability and the listed discounted rates.

Need to Reserve 10 or more rooms for your group?

Confirmation and instructions for your room block assignment will be sent within 7-10 business days. Group block requests for 10 or more rooms will be accepted until September 14, 2026. After this date, rooms will need to be booked as an attendee.

Important notice

Orchid Events is the only official housing provider for this event and will not contact you directly to make a reservation. Booking through ASA, CSSA, and SSSA’s official housing partner, Orchid Events, ensures you are working with a reputable company, that your credit card information remains secure, and that you receive all benefits available to conference attendees at official hotels.

Please be aware that unauthorized housing companies may contact attendees and exhibitors with offers of discounted hotel rooms. While these rates may appear appealing, they are often misleading and can result in lost deposits, unexpected fees, or reservations that do not exist as promised.

If you are contacted by anyone regarding hotel reservations for CANVAS, or by someone claiming to represent the ASA, CSSA, and SSSA housing provider, we recommend gathering as much information as possible and then contacting Orchid Events directly for verification.

Cancellations and changes

  • May 1 through September 21, 2026: Cancellations and changes can be made without a fee online or by contacting Orchid Events.
  • September 22 through October 12, 2026: Cancellations and changes can be made online or by contacting Orchid Events. Cancellations will be subject to a $40 fee.
  • After October 12, 2026: Cancellations and changes must be made through the hotel. Cancellations will not be refunded the one-night’s room & tax deposit. 

Deposits

All reservation requests must be accompanied by a credit card guarantee for a one night’s room and tax deposit for each room reserved. Your credit card will not be charged during this initial stage and will be held as a guarantee only. 

  • Hotels will charge the non-refundable deposit of one (1) night’s room & tax on or after October 12, 2026
  • This deposit will be applied to each guest’s folio upon check-in 
  • Please note that if you cancel after October 12, 2026, this deposit will not be refunded

Maintain your hotel loyalty points

When making your reservation through Orchid Events, you may still earn hotel loyalty or rewards points. Please have your loyalty account number(s) available at the time of booking.

Acknowledgements

Orchid Events will send reservation acknowledgements within 24 hours via email if booked online or by telephone. 

If you do not receive your acknowledgement in this time frame, contact Orchid Events at Send Message. You will not receive written confirmation from the hotel.
