SASES Officers

National Officers and Advisors

Officers and advisers showcase their leadership and help drive transformational growth to SASES. Officers are elected annually by undergraduate student members and delegates from participating SASES clubs at CANVAS (formerly known as the ASA, SSSA, and CSSA Annual Meeting).

  • Positions serve a one-year term
  • Officers meet virtually monthly to discuss the SASES program
  • Responsible for review and acceptance of new clubs into SASES, identify and coordinate keynote speakers for the Annual Meeting, determine the host school of the Spring Meeting, and continually working to enhance the undergraduate student member experience
  • Officers may also collaborate on other projects of their choosing
  • The Society staff and Undergraduate Advisory Committee support and assist the National Officers

Serve as a Club Delegate

Each SASES Club, selects two Club Delegate, who will then be responsible for voting in the National Elections that take place at CANVAS each year. Clubs may outline their nomination procedures in selecting delegates, including dates, process, and requirements. Delegates need to be chosen prior to the election.

Club Delegates must participate in the mandatory Delegate training that takes place at CANVAS (prior to the election, and often following the SASES Business Meeting). Training provides guidance on the election process and answers questions.

In the event an officer position is not filled during the election, Club Delegates are expected to participate in virtual voting procedures after the conclusion of the meeting.
As a SASES club delegate, it is crucial that you represent the interests of the full chapter when voting in SASES elections.
